🏙️ Man-Made & AI

You’re fascinated by what humans build — or what machines create. Here’s your category for both.

📂 Catch-All

No box fits your image? Perfect. Our catch-all category is a home for the bold, the weird, and the brilliant.

Final Thoughts Before You Enter

This contest is open to everyone—whether you’re a seasoned pro or just getting started behind the lens.

Sometimes, a single photo could fit into several categories. For instance, imagine a shot you took in Tibet: a sweeping landscape with leading lines that draw the eye toward a person in the frame. That image might fit under Nature & Landscapes, People, Elements of Design, or even Travel & Place.

But here’s the key:
👉 You can only submit each photo to one category per month.
You can’t re-enter the same image across different categories over time. So take a moment to review past winners, think about what makes your photo shine, and choose the category that highlights its strongest qualities.

What Doesn’t Influence Judging

We judge based on image quality and artistic merit—not on gear, background, or how “serious” the subject is. Here’s what we don’t consider when placing or scoring a photo:

  • Whether the image was digitally edited
  • Whether it’s black & white or color (unless it’s a themed category)
  • Whether it’s humorous or dramatic
  • Whether you’re a pro or a hobbyist
  • Whether you used a DSLR, mirrorless, smartphone, or anything else

A Note on Digital Editing

Digital manipulation is totally fine—as long as the subject matter fits the category. If you used editing techniques (like compositing, special effects, or major retouching), we ask that you briefly describe those in the image description. Transparency is appreciated, and our judges won’t penalize you for creativity.

Use the Categories as a Guide

The category system is here to help—not to restrict you. These categories are flexible guidelines, not hard-and-fast rules. That said, we reserve the right to reassign a photo if it clearly doesn’t fit the category it was submitted under.

One Last Nudge…

Now that you know what we’re looking for—and what we’re not—get out there and shoot with intention, joy, and curiosity. When you’re ready, submit your photo and let it shine.
